Mandalay United Vs Myanmar Shipyard

This match was very interesting match for Mandalay united as they were defeated by Myanmar shipyard team in two consecutive matches from a few months ago. In this match, MUFC prepare it’s ever strongest defensive lineup. Basically MUFC played the whole match with the formation of 3-2-3-2 that was the new formation MUFC has never played before. The 3 defensive players are Ko Soe Aung, Aung ThuRa and Ko Min Naing. In front of them, there are two defensive midfielders NayMyatSoe and Ye Gyi, and 3 attack midfielders are Soe Thu, Zeyar and Ko Nyi. Zarni played as lone striker and our wonderful striker Aung Lay who just returns from his long absent played as shadow striker. Although captain and playmaker Ko Nge Lay miss this match, both defensive and attacking midfielders link each other very well to support to attack as well as to support the defense.

MUFC 1-0 Shipyard

MUFC players performed well as planned at formation and manage to give pressure to Myanmar shipyard defensive since the very beginning of the match. At 10 minutes from the first half, Zarni put his best afford to get the ball by running over to shipyard defender and pass the ball to SoeThu. Shipyard keeper was unable to drag the ball at the air and reach to SoeThu. He made the heading to empty goals but unfortunately wasting one goal by heading beside the goal bar. After 5 minutes from that terrible mistake, MUFC recover it’s placing again. First Zeyar pass the ball to zarni and zarni roll the ball toward the running lane of Aung Lay. That quickly passing amazed shipyard defenders and Aung Lay managed to bring the balls swiftly towards to the goal.

He showed his wonderful finishing skills by kicking calmly to the right corner of shipyard goal keeper and cheers up MUFC to head the game with 1-0.


MUFC 1-1 Shipyard

Shipyard attack and try to penetrate to MUFC defense for a few times, but the wall AungThura, Ko Soe Aung , Ko Min Naing and goal keeper Sithu destroy their hope of scoring with their experienced skills. However at 25 minutes of the first half, shipyard striker tackles Ko Min Naing from the left side and shoots the ball from the narrow angle. As the ball came from narrow angle with powerful speed, MUFC gave equalizer goal to shipyard.

MUFC 2-1 Shipyard

At 35 minutes of the first half, Ko Min Naing made the long passing to the striker Zarni. Zarni showed his excellent striker skills by leaving shipyard defender behind him and pass the ball to soethu again. This time, soethu made the great heading again and bring up MUFC with the result of 2-1.

Second Half

MUFC 2-2 Shipyard

MUFC 2-3 Shipyard

At second half, MUFC planned to speed up its attacking power by substituting Ye Gyi with KyawGyi. However shipyard team also increases their attacking speed and control the tempo of the game. KyawGyi was too attacking minded in this match and unable to prevent the shipyard attack before it reach to the last defensive line. MUFC players were unable to control the ball possession at the start of the second half and give up of extending the lead of the game. Shipyard team keep pressuring on MUFC defensive line and score two goals continuously and lead the game with 3-2.

MUFC 3-3 Shipyard

At 80 minutes, MUFC replace soethu with Striker Aung Lay and the ball possession was significantly improved. At 90 minutes, Aunglay shoot the ball incredibly from the left wing and the ball was bending into the goal bar. As the ball hit the goal bar, striker zarni has no hesitation to run in and make the heading to the ball that gives equalizer goal to MUFC at last minute before the referee whistle.
